Tweaking to get the best out of your gear!
Tip:(If you own lots of 126 film take a look at John Fowler's D.I.Y filmholder for this kind of film here.)
Crop positions for the Canon 8600F scanner review
Crop positions above.

I made this little tweak test on suggestion from a review reader.
The idea is to determine if the scanner has its focus at the wrong distance from the glass bed.
I made six different scans: Normal, +4mm, +2mm, +1mm, +0,5mm, from the glass and finally
I ripped the film out of its slide frame and mounted it straight on to the glass   with tape :0)
The slide frame it self held the film 0,5mm above the glass (2mm standard slide frames)

4 crop positions of each scan so be repaired no USM sharpening applied (lots of images).

Normal
0,5mm

Contact mounted on the glass

2mm (2mm bring us in wrong direction!)
4mm (This is the first and last 4mm crop.)

Normal
0,5mm

Contact mounted on the glass

To me it looks like Canon have managed to get it in to focus :0)

Is there any other way to tweak this thing??
