Sigma APO 150-500mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM review by Stockholmviews.com, page 5

Optical stabilization evaluation of the Sigma 150-500mm OS.

I will use the same Stockholm city hall tower again, this time to try out the OS
function of the Sigma 150-500mm F5-6.3 DG OS lens.
No further comparing to the 80-400mm lens will be done.

Focus point.
Sigma 150-500mm@500mm F8 1/800 on Tripod
Sigma 150-500mm@500mm F8 1/800
on tripod OS off
Sigma 150-500mm@500mm F8 1/800 Handheld
Sigma 150-500mm@500mm F8 1/800
hand held OS on mode 1

Quite nice result at 1/800 sec, i made 3 shoots all came out this way.
I will make some further test at damper light to find out where hit and miss will be
toooo dominated of miss :0)

I will also try to improve my shooting technique, and maybe reveal some tricks to make it a bit easier to get the keepers coming more often.

Framing for OS test
I got bored of the bells so I use this view instead (Full frame above) :0)
Hand held OS funktion On Sigma 150-500mm active in mode 1
Hand held OS in mode 1, F8 1/60 iso100 @500mm best out off 3 images
150-500mm OS on tripod os funktion in off
On tripod OS in off, F8 1/45 iso100 @500mm

@ 1/60 I got a desent result, not up to tripod standards but still usable.

F8-1/160-iso100@500mm
Hand held OS in mode 1, F8 1/160 iso100 @500mm best out off 3 images
Ambient light a bit different.
In the future I will feel confient shooting this lens at 500mm @ 1/160 :0)

500mm @F 6.3
Hand held OS in mode 1, F6.3 (Largest aperture @500mmm)
1/180 iso100 @500mm best out off 3 images, Looks about the same as the
"F8 1/160 image" just a bit softer due to the larger aperture.
