Kodak Ektar 100 review / evaluation

I must admit that I used this first roll of Ektar 100 in a respect less way, but I just
had to get knowledge of if this film could be the one to chose when you intend to use it for scanning purposes.

To start with I will show you a black frame that I shot with the lens cover on
plus a gray sky shot both image square crops are @ 100% size from a 4000ppi
scanned with my Canon FS4000US no sharpening applied jpg Quality 9.
No comments I'm sure you can make your own conclusion :0)

Next test is a test of how different settings of USM (Unsharp mask) will influence the
grain appearance and structure of the scan from the Kodak Ektar 100.

What next?

I have shot one roll ono of this new film from Kodak and I must say that I like it,
the grain is fine and it allows for sharp scans.

Reports from other users indicates that this film should actually be handled more
like a ISO 64 film than the rated ISO100 that we car read on the box.

Next roll I will be use the ISO 64 thinking when I shoot it.
I will also simultaneously shoot a roll of Velvia 50 just to have something to
compare the Kodak Ektar 100 to!

I am looking forward to this and will get back with the results A.S.A.P / Stefan
